Cable car Argegno-Pigra
The construction of the Argegno-Pigra
cable car, by the Badoni company, allows
you to reach, in 4 minutes, overcoming a difference in altitude of 648 metres, the most beautiful terrace existing in the Como pre-Alps.
Two 12-seater cabins alternate along a route that has notable slopes, from 71% to 95%, and allow the traveler to enjoy an incomparable view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The importance of this work is certainly not just for tourism, in fact, the cable car allows to connect Argegno with Pigra.
It therefore remains one of the steepest cable car in Italy. it's really an amazing experience!
From the top - Pigra station - in about 15 minutes walking you can reach the Bellavista area (you will find immediately the signage on the road), a garden where you can also have a pic-nic and above all with a breath-taking view on all this side of the lake. Moreover, closed to the Pigra cable car station (1 minute walking) there is a bar-restaurant-pizzeria with a very big garden and - most important for families - a wood playground, a tennis court, another little playground where your children could have fun in total security while you relax and maybe have an aperitif!

Cable Car Como-Brunate
Brunate is a small town, about 2000 people are living there.
It is in a wonderful position and it is also known as the "Balcony on the Alps" and its entire territory is dotted with villas in Art Nouveau style (such as Villa Pirotta Bonacossa), or in eclectic style (such as Villa Ghezzi Antonelli), and old luxury hotels (such as the Grand Hotel Brunate) which recall the beginning of the twentieth century.
It is located approximately 715 meters above the sea level, Brunate boasts an ancient history.
Precisely for these characteristics, if you visit Como you must absolutely go on board to the funicular and reach it.
The journey takes about seven minutes and the funicular is active from 6.00 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. (the only exception is December 25th, when the trips only run from 8.00 to 12.00) and until 24.00 on Saturdays and during the summer period. The ticket for a single journey costs about €3.10 at full fare and €2.10 at reduced fare; the return ticket, however, is €5.70 and €3.30 respectively. All information and timetables on:
